by AAUW Del Mar-Leucadia member Mary Jefferson
Shown by DNA to be a direct descendant of Sally Hennings and President Thomas Jefferson. Mary has appeared on the Oprah show, was invited to the White House, and participated in a tree planting at Monticello, next to a recreated slave cabin. She has spoken for the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello, as well as many women’s organizations, colleges, and genealogy groups.
