AAUW Educational Foundation has a long and distinguished history of advancing educational and professional opportunities for women in the United States and around the globe. Each year AAUW provides millions of dollars in fellowships, grants and awards for outstanding women around the globe and for community action projects. AAUW also funds pioneering research on women, girls, and education.
The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF) works to combat sex discrimination in higher education and workplaces through campus outreach programs, an online resource library, and research reports. LAF also provides support to workplace sex discrimination cases that have the potential to make a difference for all women..
The Del Mar-Leucadia branch offers College Scholarships to undergraduate female college students who are residents of North San Diego County and who attend school in San Diego County. The scholarship award can reach $1,500.
Tech Trek is a week-long residential math/science camp for middle school girls. AAUW branches sponsor campers in their area. Most Del Mar-Leucadia Branch campers attend Tech Trek at the University of California San Diego campus.
Speech Trek encourages high school girls to speak out articulately on issues of importance. Scholarships are offered to girls who create YouTube videos and present them to AAUW judges.
